When you’re choosing new cabinets for your kitchen, you probably devote a lot of attention to picking just the right wood, just the right finish, just the right period styling. After all that effort, you may be tempted to regard cabinet hardware as an afterthought.
This, however, would be a mistake. The wrong hardware choices have a serious impact. Choosing knobs and pulls without regard to the kitchen’s overall design can really disrupt the room’s aesthetic harmony, even if the knobs and pulls are works of art in their own right. And the wrong hinges (or not enough of them) can not only spoil the look of your cabinets, they can reduce the value of your investment by shortening the cabinets’ life.
