Odyssey Deck Lighting System
For those who love nighttime summer entertaining on the deck, there’s an innovative solution to the chaos of Christmas lights strung around the yard. Aurora Deck Lighting just released the Odyssey, outdoor deck lighting unlike any other.
The lights themselves are tiny and encased in a 3/16-by-5/16-inch channel small enough to install nearly anywhere. Despite their little size, the company says that each bulb emits a beam of light with a 120-degree radius.
The strip lights are so narrow that they can go anywhere, but shed enough light to illuminate the average 10-by-12-foot deck with just one all-inclusive kit. Each kit contains four strip lights that can be mounted separately or strung together so that they can be operated by one LED driver.
Each strip light in the kit comes with a 48-inch wire lead, allowing innumerable traditional and creative arrangements for showering the deck with lighting. The kit also includes the LED driver with a built-in timer and a remote control. The strip lights operate on a typical 110-volt, grounded outlet.
Yet another advantage are long-life, energy efficient LED bulbs. They’re perfect as down lights when applied to the undersides of deck rails, stair rails, steps, soffits, patio covers, gazebos, or even under the deck itself to illuminate great landscaping or water features. The four strips of lights included in the kit come in your choice of 18, 24, 36 or 48 inches in length.
